About the Role

As a planner at Harrison Grierson, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of urban development projects, from small and unique to complex and large scale. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality planning solutions that meet the needs of our clients and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to the delivery of various planning projects, including major urban development and infrastructure projects.
  • Provide best-practice planning advice and strategic solutions that balance clients' needs with community and environmental concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with our teams and communicate proactively with clients to build long-term relationships.
  • Guide and coach junior team members to support their career growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with latest developments in planning and legislative changes.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in planning, urban development, or a related field.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI).
  • 5+ years experience in planning, with a strong understanding of the RMA and local planning frameworks.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment.
  • Desirable: experience in implementing Te Aranga principles into plans and creating collaborative outcomes with tangata whenua.
