Paediatric Anaesthesia Specialist in Auckland

Head Medical is seeking a skilled Paediatric Anaesthetist to join our team at the leading provider of tertiary paediatric care for New Zealand and the South Pacific.
About the RoleThis full-time position involves contributing clinically to care across the full spectrum of surgical disciplines in children, excluding paediatric cardiac surgery. The role also includes a busy out-of-theatre workload including radiology, interventional procedures, and radiotherapy while delivering day case surgery to our local community on a separate site.
A key aspect of this role is supporting non-clinical activities, with time provided to engage in teaching, education, quality improvement, and research. Our team incorporates a dedicated Acute and Chronic Pain service and includes subspecialty teams for Cardiac and Transplantation Anaesthesia.
Key Responsibilities- Providing high-quality anaesthetic care to children undergoing surgery
- Contributing to the development of policies and procedures related to paediatric anaesthesia
- Participating in teaching and training programs for junior medical staff
To be successful in this role, you must be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand and be vocationally registered, or eligible for such registration. Applicants must also be eligible to work in New Zealand.
FANZCA (or equivalent) and post-fellowship training or experience in Paediatric Anaesthesia are essential requirements. Additionally, the ability to provide on-call cover across the full range of Paediatric Anaesthesia is necessary.
