About the Role

This Senior Program Director position is responsible for leading the transfer of corporate services at the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The successful candidate will have a proven track record in project management, organizational frameworks, planning, and corporate service models.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a new corporate service model that supports NEMA's strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team and other stakeholders to ensure effective decision-making processes and high-quality transition planning.
  • Maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support NEMA's requirements.
Key Accountabilities
  • CORPORATE SERVICE MODEL CHANGE: Ensure NEMA continuously delivers on its strategic priorities and operational outcomes.
  • Governance: Work alongside the governance structures, facilitating robust decision-making processes and the development of high-quality transition planning.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships: Establish and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to aid NEMA's requirements.
Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in project management, organisational frameworks, planning, and corporate service models.
  • Proven experience operating within and influencing governance frameworks and working within the public sector.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholder relationships and delivering complex projects.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience with financial models and corporate services disciplines.
  • Understanding of emergency management, the CDEM Act 2002, the National CDEM Plan, Guide, and supporting plans.
  • Familiarity with the Public Finance Act 1989, and Public Service Act 2020.
Personal Attributes
  • Ability to problem-solve amidst ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to convey complex information and provide well-reasoned advice.
  • Strong influence and negotiation skills, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
