Job Description

The University of Auckland invites applications for a permanent academic appointment to a lectureship in Philosophy. As a Senior Research Academic, you will contribute to the School's research and teaching excellence by developing your own research programme and supervising postgraduate students.

About the Role
This is an opportunity to join a vibrant and dynamic community of researchers and teachers who are passionate about advancing knowledge in Philosophy. You will be expected to conduct high-quality research, teach at various levels, supervise research at postgraduate levels, and participate in administrative duties. Your area of research specialisation could be logic, metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of language, or philosophy of mind.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain a strong research profile that aligns with the School's research priorities
* Teach courses at various levels, including undergraduate and postgraduate subjects
* Supervise research at postgraduate levels, providing guidance and support to students
* Contribute to the development of new programmes and courses
* Participate in departmental and school-level committees and working groups

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have completed a PhD in Philosophy or a related field, and demonstrate strengths in teaching and research. You will also need to be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
