About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Applications Developer to join our Protection product team. As an Applications Developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of software solutions that protect New Zealand's borders. You will work closely with our Product Manager and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software applications that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and implement software solutions using various programming languages and technologies.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, ensuring it meets industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop technical solutions.
  • Participate in Agile development methodologies, working closely with Product Managers and Development Teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas for process improvements and implementing changes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a software developer, preferably in a similar role or related field.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, architecture, and development methodologies.
  • Experience with DevOps tools, such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
