As a Paediatric Cardiologist at Starship Children's Health, you will be part of a world-class paediatric healthcare service, providing family-centred care to neonates, children, and young people throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific.
About the Role
This 6-month fixed-term, full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive care to infants and children with congenital and acquired heart disease. You will work closely with 11 other cardiologists and 3 cardiac surgeons, as well as 4 fellows in training, to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert medical care to patients with congenital and acquired heart disease
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case conferences
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement treatment plans
- Contribute to teaching, audit, and research activities within the department
Requirements
- Eligible for Locum Tenens/vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collegial environment
- Ability to participate in departmental activities, including teaching, audit, and research
