**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in the Surgical Pathology Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality histology services to patients across North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals, as well as BreastScreen Waitemata Northland and BreastScreen Auckland Central.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process approximately 56,000 specimens from 30,000 patients per year using laboratory equipment.
- Conduct routine histological preparations, special stains, immunohistochemistry, and frozen sections.
- Collaborate with a broad range of staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in histology laboratory with excellent scientific and technical knowledge.
- Current Annual Practising Certificate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility to suit service demands.
- Ability to contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department.
