Dynamic Work Environment: We are seeking an Electrical Systems Design Specialist to join our Tactical Engineering and Estimation Group. In this role, you will work on exciting projects from start to finish, supporting the initial business case, scoping the detailed design, and providing commissioning support.

About the Opportunity: Based in Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch, you will collaborate with project managers and engineering consultants to investigate options and develop feasible solutions that enable faster grid connections to our customer facilities and enhance the resilience and reliability of the grid.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the initial business case, scoping the detailed design, and providing commissioning support for electrical systems design projects
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineering consultants to investigate options and develop feasible solutions
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, cost-effective engineering design
  • Provide solutions that consider the needs of Substations, Transmission Lines, Asset Planning, and Operations teams

Requirements:

  • Rlevant Washington Accord Bachelor of Engineering degree (Electrical)
  • Over 4 years' experience in protection and automation design, configuration, and settings
  • Experience/understanding of manufacturer software platforms and settings for SEL, Siemens, GE, and MiCOM relays
  • Familiarity with engineering software and tools e.g. PowerFactory and Stationware
