About the Role

Vessev is seeking an experienced Senior Composite Structural Engineer to join our Vessel Design team and support our Hydrofoiling Systems team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing high-performance electric hydrofoiling vessels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own structural performance modeling for our commercial offerings
  • Select materials (composite, metallic, or hybrid) for each component to optimize strength, weight, and cost
  • Design composite solutions that combine with hardware and fitout to create the best product possible
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs are manufacturable from the outset
  • Showcase ingenuity by coming up with innovative solutions to improve existing designs

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or a technical engineering discipline (e.g., aerospace, mechanical, industrial, chemical)
  • 8+ years experience with composite structural analysis, laminate specification, and detailing
  • A strong background in mechanical design from prototyping through to production
  • Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software
