Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in backend engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming language.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Building RESTful APIs is a crucial aspect of this role.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes) is essential.
  • Experience with Docker containerization.
  • Solid understanding of system design principles (e.g., scalability, security).
  • Version control systems (e.g., Git) expertise.
  • Passion for product development and enhancing user experience.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
  • Sync meetings can be held between 4-6 pm New Zealand Time (NZT).

Optional but beneficial

  • Experience with SSH protocol and network engineering is a plus.

Your responsibilities

  • Independently manage application development stages, shape requirements, and lead engineering projects related to Termius's backend.
  • Participate in testing, releasing, and maintaining the backend codebase and related developer tools and processes.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to influence product development.
  • Communicate effectively with users to understand their needs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure their success with our platform.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges to optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Contribute to high-quality code through participation in code reviews.
  • Implement automation and streamline development workflows by creating CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot and fix complex backend and infrastructure issues.
  • Stay updated on the latest backend technologies and trends.
