About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver Advocate to join our Supported Living team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support individuals with daily living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting
  • Help individuals maintain relationships with family and friends, and facilitate new connections
  • Encourage participation in community activities, such as sports and art
  • Assist with employment and social issues, and connect individuals with relevant community services
  • Ensure individuals make informed decisions and live healthy lifestyles

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a related field is preferred, but not essential
  • Able to build strong relationships with individuals and their support networks
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable using technology and willing to learn new systems
  • Physically fit to support individuals in various activities
  • Full New Zealand driver's license
