As part of the Government Of Alberta, we are dedicated to providing exceptional visitor services and park operations in our district. Our team is passionate about delivering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors.
We are seeking motivated and courteous individuals with exceptional customer service skills to fill the Seasonal District Support and Information Officers positions. As an Information Officer (IO), you will be responsible for day-to-day operations at the registration booth/concession, providing front-line customer service while registering campers and delivering information around park activities, regulations, and nearby amenities. You will also assist in maintaining knowledge of relevant recreational and tourist opportunities to respond to requests for information.
ResponsibilitiesThe IO duties include:
- Providing exceptional front-line customer service while registering campers and delivering information around park activities, regulations, and nearby amenities.
- Assisting in the distribution of information-based communications such as posters and brochures throughout the park.
- Maintaining knowledge of relevant recreational and tourist opportunities to respond to requests for information.
- Acquiring understanding and ability to use the Shop.AlbertaParks.ca system for camper registration and payments.
- Ensuring building security through effective opening and closing procedures.
- Responsible for inventory management and control.
- Providing excellent customer service as the first point of contact for visitors.
The Seasonal District Support position assists the team responsible for running daily operations of the park facilities. This position's primary purpose is to provide front-line contact for Alberta Parks by providing excellent customer service and effective information delivery.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma.
- Experience with point of sales machines and customer service (Information Officer).
- At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience and customer service experience (Seasonal District Support).
- English language proficiency.
- Available to work weekends and evenings during the season.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
- A valid Criminal Record Check.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- A valid First Aid/CPR-C Certificate.
