Job Summary:

This role involves coordinating the safe management of tangata whaikaha and providing a pathway for offenders with an intellectual disability away from the criminal justice and mental health systems towards more appropriate disability services.

About the Team:

We are a Treaty partner committed to strengthening relationships with Maori, Hapu, Iwi and communities to realise their own potential and aspirations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assess and prioritise the needs of tangata whaikaha.
  • Coordinate a package of care that meets the assessed and prioritised needs of tangata whaikaha.
  • Work collaboratively with tangata whaikaha, whanau, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

**Requirements:**

  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A specialist knowledge and understanding of service coordination would be an advantage but not essential.
