The Role / Te Mahi
We seek an enthusiastic team player to join our residential support team. As a Residential Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and supportive environment for our Deaf students.
The residence, located in Christchurch, incorporates a residential setting for Deaf boarding students during school term time. The residential programme focuses on independent living and life skills. Students range from 11 to 21 years of age.
Your main mission is to inspire and support our incredible students in their daily tasks and activities, fostering independence and life skills along the way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with various needs in their daily lives
- Fostering independence and life skills in students
- Creating a safe and supportive environment for students
Requirements:
- Demonstrated success with at least 2 years of youth-focused work, highlighting your ability to connect and empower young individuals
- A valid full driver's licence, ensuring you can respond promptly and efficiently to the needs of our students
- Proven experience working with youths with various needs, showcasing your adaptability and commitment to inclusive care
