The Wildbase Recovery rehabilitation aviaries are state-of-the-art facilities that enable the continued care and rehabilitation of native patients, preparing them for release back into their natural habitats. In conjunction with the Massey University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, the Wildbase Hospital provides specialized care to exotic bird and reptile patients.
As a Wildlife Technician, you will collaborate with a small team to provide hospital, nursing, and rehabilitation care to patients across the Hospital and Recovery facilities. You will also contribute to developing and implementing native wildlife pathology services and oiled wildlife emergency response strategies in partnership with the Department of Conservation.
This is a full-time ongoing position based in Palmerston North, with a salary range of $48,596 - $71,027 based on your skills and experience.
To be considered, you will require:
- A degree/diploma in veterinary nursing or veterinary technology - essential.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- A current driver's licence.
- A strong commitment to animal welfare and conservation.
