Job Description

Career Guidance and Education Leader

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver our Transition Out of School Programme to support students in their journey toward independence and career success.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalised guidance on educational and career pathways.
  • Build strong networks with tertiary providers, workplaces, and community organisations.
  • Manage the Gateway Programme, designing individual student work experience opportunities.
  • Lead and support staff in integrating career education into the curriculum.
  • Have 0.8 FTTE management release time and provide 0.2 FTTE 1:1 teaching to support student transitions.
Requirements:
  • Be a fully registered teacher with 5+ years of teaching experience.
  • Have experience in careers education and guidance with knowledge of NZ career pathways.
  • Possess strong leadership and relationship skills to engage students, staff, whanau, and external partners.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in NZSL or a commitment to learning.
  • Exhibit strategic thinking and organisational skills to implement impactful programmes.
