We have an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Operator to join our Rankine and Gas Turbine teams in Huntly. This is an excellent chance for someone with a mechanical trade background looking for a new challenge.
The primary role involves ensuring the operation and maintenance of the generation and auxiliary plant while meeting resource consent, health and safety policies, and regulation requirements. You will work on shift for up to six months a year, requiring 1-2 years of operational training, though there are potential opportunities for daywork roles.
- Report on plant conditions and address defects
- Manage audit/operation documentation
- Support the asset management plan by performing maintenance tasks and site checks
You will use the Computerised Maintenance Management System to log failures, track time, and record equipment/material purchases. It is essential to keep maintenance documentation up to date, including procedures, work orders, job plans, and technical specs.
We seek a clear, confident communicator with strong mentoring and influencing skills. You will collaborate with diverse team members to meet targets and solve complex problems by breaking them down and identifying root causes.
About YouWe require:
- Proven experience in maintenance within heavy mechanical or engineering environments
- Mechanical Trade Certificate or equivalent qualifications or experience in a related field
- Fault Diagnostic skills
- A full, clean driver's license
- Flexibility, this role can include both day and shift work
Hazardous area experience and/or endorsements would be beneficial.
