Job Description

We are seeking an experienced engineering professional to lead our transport operations team. As the Transport Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations to ensure a safe and accessible transport system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide meaningful leadership to the transport operations team, fostering a high-performance culture and providing clear direction and technical support.
  • Oversee all network programming to meet safety and maintenance requirements, optimise resource efficiencies, customer needs, and financial constraints.
  • Procure and develop physical works packages, including appropriate and well-scoped contract documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Manage and successfully deliver the transport maintenance, operations, and allocated renewals programmes.
  • Lead proactive collaboration and build strong relationships with neighbouring stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Civil or NZ Diploma in Engineering Civil.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in civil engineering works, preferably in roading/transport and local government.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • High attention to detail, excellent time management, and a solution-focused approach.
