About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team, focusing on the maintenance and repair of buildings, building services, and equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems and be able to work safely and efficiently.
This is a full-time position based at Christchurch Health Campus, with occasional work at other sites.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintenance and repairs of electrical systems and equipment.
- Installation, repair, and maintenance of hospital equipment and reticulation systems.
- Electrical safety checks and various commercial and industrial maintenance tasks.
A salary range will be determined by your experience.
To succeed in this role, you'll need excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a safe and logical approach.
About You
Required Skills and Qualifications
This role requires:
- A Licensed Electrician registered with The Electrical Workers Registration Board of New Zealand.
- Previous experience working according to building statutory requirements.
- Strong time management skills and ability to set priorities.
- Ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
- Knowledge and understanding of trades roles and their impact on patient services.
- Understanding of the impact of buildings and fittings on patient services.
- Capacity to identify maintenance needs through casual observation.
- Ability to follow administrative procedures.
Desirable Experience Includes:
- Work in Body or Cardiac Protected Areas.
- Parallel Generation Systems.
- 'Working on or Near Live Equipment'.
- Heat pumps.
- Medical Sanitiser Machines advantageous, typically Meiko.
- Commercial dishwashers, typically Starline.
