About the Role

  • We are seeking a skilled and passionate professional to join our team as a Cultural Liaison Specialist.
  • As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between whānau Māori and our service providers.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide education to clinicians on Te Ao Māori and best practice for Māori health care.
  • To facilitate hui using Tikanga and ensure that all stakeholders understand and respect Māori cultural protocols.
  • To communicate effectively with taangata hapori and whānau Māori, providing support and guidance to access community resources and services.
  • To work collaboratively with other organizations to achieve sustainable outcomes for tāngata whaiora.

About You

  • You have experience working in mental health, community health, or primary care settings.
  • You have a strong understanding of Māori culture and tikanga.
  • You are able to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • You are passionate about improving health outcomes for Māori.
