This permanent, full-time opportunity requires a people leader with strong subject matter expertise, writing, and relationship skills. The successful candidate will provide overall leadership to a team of senior and principal advisors responsible for supporting the delivery of Hauora Māori Tūmatanui programmes across prevention, promotion, and protection.

\

The primary purpose of this role is to lead a project of work with a focus on equity Māori health gain and achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori and supporting tangata whenua to realise their aspirations.

\

We are seeking an experienced professional with 10+ years in Māori health and a relevant tertiary qualification or comparable experience working at a senior leadership level.

\

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of kawa and tikanga and a commitment to Pae Ora and significant experience working in partnership with iwi and Māori communities.

\Requirements\
  • Proven experience in leading a team to achieve equity Māori health gain as well as achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori and supporting tangata whenua to realise their aspirations.
  • 10+ years experience in Māori health and able to draw on extensive specialised work experience, likely supported with professional qualifications.
  • Previous experience in applying critical thinking, using sound judgment to develop options and knowledge of the machinery of government, and policy development, is preferable.
  • Previous experience in leading and developing teams for the advancement of Māori health gain.
  • Understanding of kawa and tikanga and a commitment to Pae Ora & significant experience working in partnership with iwi & Māori communities.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in business and/or health related areas, or comparable/extensive experience working at a senior leadership level.
