Role Overview

Auckland Council is seeking a skilled professional to join our Building Consent team as a Graduate. This role will provide the opportunity to gain experience in construction compliance, processing building consents, and conducting site inspections.

About the Role

This graduate role will assist with:

  • Site inspections by reviewing consented building work across disciplines such as building, plumbing and drainage.
  • Front of house enquiries regarding building consent services.
  • Processing of building consents.
  • Conducting audits with our capability team.

About You

We welcome applications from graduates in various disciplines, including Building Control Surveying, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Architectural drafting or technology, Building Science, Engineering (Civil, Construction, Architectural), or relevant qualifications that meet regulation requirements.

To be eligible to apply, you must have:

  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand for more than 3 years without sponsorship.
  • A minimum of a relevant bachelor's degree completed between January 2024 – January 2026.
  • A valid NZ restricted driver's license with the ability to obtain a full license before February 2028.
