We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Specialist to join our team at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY. As a key member of the biomedical engineering department, this specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all medical equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning to meet safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Calibration: Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and repairs on medical equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all medical equipment meets safety and performance standards, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshooting: Collaborate with the biomedical engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
  • Documentation: Document and maintain accurate records of all maintenance, calibration, and repair activities.
  • Equipment Installation: Assist in the installation, testing, and validation of new medical equipment.
  • Equipment Repair: Respond to equipment malfunctions and provide timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with hospital staff to ensure equipment is safe and operational for patient care.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends and developments to ensure best practices are followed.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience repairing, maintaining, and calibrating medical devices independently.
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Ability to make decisions regarding troubleshooting and repairing medical devices.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills.
  • Scheduling flexibility to participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
