About Our Cromwell Store

We are a leading supermarket in Cromwell, Central Otago, and we are seeking a skilled retail meat processor to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and storing meat upon delivery, maintaining the cold chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving, inspecting, and storing meat upon delivery
  • Maintaining the cold chain
  • Cutting, boning, or grinding pieces of meat
  • Weighing, wrapping, and displaying cuts of meat
  • Familiarizing yourself with safe handling of tools and cutting equipment
  • Cutting or preparing meats to specification or customer orders
  • Presentation of various products in display cabinets
  • Cleaning equipment and work areas to maintain food safety standards
  • Managing stock rotation
  • Maintaining and adhering to workplace safety standards

Requirements

  • A recognized butcher qualification and/or 3 years butchery experience
  • A passion for quality and proven track record
  • Familiarity with standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within a butchery
  • An understanding of food safety standards
  • The ability to work within a team environment
  • Demonstrating sound work ethics
