Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead our building mechanical engineering team. As a seasoned project manager, you will be responsible for designing and engineering projects from initial concept through completed construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evaluate system concepts and options to determine the best design and engineering solution for each project based on project scope.
  • Develop design drawings and specifications for building mechanical systems.
  • Perform systems analysis and prepare reports and studies as well as cost estimates.
  • Lead and coordinate with architects, engineers, designers, and administration staff.
  • Interface with clients to discuss changes to designs and/or specifications.
  • Work with leadership to manage design manpower budget and update budget to reflect revisions or changes in scope.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior firm members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 10 years of job-related experience.
  • Professional Engineering License in NJ & PA (at least one is required, with ability to obtain the other).
  • LEED accreditation is desirable, but not a requirement.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Project management experience is required (including interfacing with client, coworkers, and code officials).
  • Proven track record of success in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Hands-on experience with engineering, design, building, and mechanical code requirements, with emphasis on multifamily facilities including affordable housing, student housing, and market-rate housing.
  • Energy efficient design knowledge is a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in ArchiCAD or AutoCAD environment.
