About us
Crown Equipment is a leading provider of material handling solutions, serving New Zealand's businesses and communities for over 40 years. Our global brand is well-known and respected in the marketplace, supported by highly skilled staff, quality products, strong service, and parts back-up.
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled technician to join our team as a Field-Based or Site-Based Repairs and Maintenance professional. This diverse role will see you based in Auckland, working on a large fleet of forklifts for our customers across your assigned area and in our well-equipped Workshop.
As a successful candidate, you'll have the chance to learn our products, develop and increase your skills, and progress in the business and organization. Crown product knowledge would be beneficial, but we have great training materials available for willing learners.
This permanent, full-time role comes with on-call duties and the opportunity for paid overtime. You'll work Mondays to Fridays, with opportunities to learn and grow within the company.
About you
Ideally, we're looking for candidates with at least 3 years' Material Handling Equipment experience, Auto Electrical, Diesel or Motor Mechanic experience, trade qualification, hydraulics experience, or similar overseas qualifications. To succeed in this role, you'll bring a customer-centric attitude, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to support our valued customers with exceptional service.
You'll work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team environment, supporting each other and contributing to the success of the business. Your attention to detail, IT savvy nature, and physical fitness will also be essential for this position.
Please note that a pre-employment medical, including a drug & alcohol test, and a valid driver's license are required. As part of your initial and ongoing training, you must be able to travel to Australia (with a NZ passport or eligibility to obtain an AUS visa).
What we offer
- A competitive market-related hourly rate ($30-$40 p/hr) with the possibility of additional hours at time-and-a-half after 40 hours plus rostered on-call
- A supportive learning environment with genuine career development opportunities, including a seven-week service training program
- The option to work a 4-day x 10-hour schedule (conditions apply)
- A strong and collaborative team environment
- The chance to work for a trusted supplier in the forklift industry
We pride ourselves on offering genuine career paths and development, with people in our business staying for up to 25 years and enjoying varied careers. We can offer opportunities to start a career in Trade and/or Sales and more.
