About the Role
This challenging but rewarding role offers the chance to make a real difference in people's lives. As a Mental Health Support Specialist, you will work together with residents to identify, set and reach their goals – to be healthier, do an activity or learn something new.
You will focus on supporting people with independent daily living skills – cooking, cleaning, gardening and everyday household tasks. Emphasis is placed on providing culturally safe practice and completing relevant administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support residents by ensuring they have essential resources, mental health support, and overall well-being care.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide comprehensive support and handovers.
- Identify and develop strategies to promote resident engagement and participation in activities.
Requirements:
- Culturally sensitive approach to mental health support.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
