The Y Taranaki is a charitable organization dedicated to providing quality out-of-school care services to children in New Plymouth. Our goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where children can thrive. We are seeking an experienced Out of School Care Supervisor to lead our before and after school care programs.

Role Overview

As an Out of School Care Supervisor, you will play a key role in developing and implementing high-quality out-of-school care programs. You will be responsible for supervising staff, building relationships with families, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work flexibly will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our programs.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support staff to deliver exceptional care and education.
  • Develop and implement programs that meet the needs of children and their families.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with families through effective communication and community engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote child well-being and safety.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current full driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • A current first aid certificate or the ability to obtain one.
  • Experience working with children and families in a similar capacity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think on your feet and cope with pressure.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and families.
