About the Role
Te Whatu Ora Waitemata is seeking a highly skilled Alcohol and Drug Specialist to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical services to individuals and families affected by addiction, including assessment, treatment planning, and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs and develop tailored treatment plans
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions, including motivational interviewing and other evidence-based approaches
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with community organizations and stakeholders
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in counselling, social work, or mental health
- Minimum 5 years post-grad experience working in the addiction sector
- Full registration with DAPAANZ as an AOD practitioner or equivalent
- Sound clinical skills in assessment, treatment formulation, and risk management
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and locations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
