We are seeking an experienced Treasury & Agencies Accountant to join our team in New Zealand, focusing on maintaining the financial health of our Pacific operations.

This dynamic position will work closely with the Group Treasury and Agencies Manager to ensure seamless treasury operations, drive improvements in financial reporting, and provide critical financial insights to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the weekly Group Cash Forecast, analyzing actuals vs. projections.
  • Drive real-time cash visibility, ensuring timely updates from material entities.
  • Maximize financial efficiency through prompt cash deposits with Global Treasury.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts weekly and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure intercompany balances are reconciled and eliminated (BS & P&L) by WD2.
  • Maintain a bi-weekly Bank Balance Report, highlighting any discrepancies or concerns.
  • Keep the NPDL Bank Account Register up to date, reflecting authorized signatories.
  • Support senior management with critical financial insights and information.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as directed.
  • Collaborate with NPDL Finance to execute the Annual Dividend program.
  • Support company secretarial duties, assisting agencies with Board meetings and preparations.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial deep dives for the MD Commercial & Sales, examining AR drill-downs and working capital analysis.
  • Maintain scorecard tracking and coordination with agencies.
  • Support financial planning by managing budgeting processes, reviewing file exchanges, and assessing first-cut inputs.
  • Pursue additional impactful projects as needed.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A qualified accounting background with a strong financial foundation.
  • 2-3 years of corporate experience in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
  • Hands-on senior cash management & liquidity expertise, with a focus on multi-currency cash forecasting.
  • Intercompany management expertise, ensuring seamless handling of intercompany positions.
  • Cash forecasting skills, with advanced modeling techniques.
  • Working capital management expertise, ensuring optimal cash flow and efficiency.
  • Attention to detail, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Excel and PowerPoint proficiency, leveraging data and visuals.
  • Adaptability and multitasking abilities, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Precision and accuracy in execution, with a get-it-right-the-first-time mindset.
  • Problem-solving approach, tackling challenges head-on.
  • Knowledge of best-practice cash management, with a focus on industry-leading processes.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills, engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Reporting to an overseas parent company (US preferred).
  • ERP implementation expertise.
  • FBAR reporting experience.
  • Shared Service Centre (SSC) experience.
  • Corporate finance and capital structure understanding.
  • Power BI and financial report writing skills.
  • International tax knowledge.
  • Multilateral netting solutions experience.
  • Letters of credit and bank guarantees expertise.
  • International M&A experience.
