About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Justice Advocate to join our team at Te Tahu o te Ture – Ministry of Justice. In this role, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with whanau Maori, justice sector agencies, and community organizations to champion and support the work of Whakaorangia te Mana Tangata.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality guidance and information to whanau Maori to enable them to make informed decisions about their justice needs.
  • Collaborate with lawyers, prosecutors, and other justice sector agencies to ensure better justice and wellbeing outcomes for whanau Maori.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with iwi mandated service providers and community organizations to enhance the delivery of Whakaorangia te Mana Tangata services.

What You'll Bring:

  • A deep understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and their implications for the work of Te Tahu o te Ture – Ministry of Justice.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with whanau Maori and other stakeholders.
