About the Role

This is a part-time role based in Neurological Outpatients working 16 hours a week, with days and hours negotiable within Monday to Friday, 0800-1630. The fixed term duration of this position is until 31st August 2024. To be considered for this role, it is essential that you are a New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.

Our Team

The Burwood Physiotherapy Team is made up of 65 Physiotherapists and 15 Physiotherapy Assistants, split into three teams including a Musculoskeletal team, a Neurology Team, and an Older Persons and Older Persons Mental Health team. This role is one of three Physiotherapists working in the Neuro Outpatient Team based in the Spinal Injuries Gym at Burwood.

Your Responsibilities

  • Carrying out effective patient assessments and formulating goal-based treatment plans.
  • Developing close working relationships with physiotherapy assistants and the wider physiotherapy team.
  • Flexibility to work in any of our rehabilitation areas depending on need, in conjunction with the wider interdisciplinary teams.
  • Participating in the weekend roster, with the amount, day, and type of roster negotiable.

About You

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out effective patient assessment, evaluation, and treatments in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards of practice. You will also formulate treatment interventions to meet individual needs in collaboration with the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • The ability to hit the ground running with the energy and passion to deliver a high standard of care to patients.
  • A strong ability to develop a close working relationship with physiotherapy assistants and the wider physiotherapy team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with an enthusiasm for knowledge sharing across and beyond your discipline.
  • A valid New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist with a current practicing certificate.
  • Either an existing ENABLE assessor or eligible for registration.
