About the Role
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a clinical psychologist to work with older adults in a community-based setting. The ideal candidate will have an interest in providing psychological assessments and treatments, as well as developing specialized care plans and management strategies.

About the Team/Service/ Location
The Awhi Mātua team serves the central Auckland population of adults over 65 who are experiencing acute mental health challenges or behavioural difficulties associated with dementia. The team works with people from acute crisis presentation through to continuing care.

About You
You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. You will also need to have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as time management and prioritization skills.

\

Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions using evidence-based best practice principles
- Work directly with Tangata Whaiora to develop specialized care plans and management strategies
- Collaborate with the wider team to develop solutions that allow Tangata Whaiora to live well and build up natural supports
