The Dometic Group is seeking an ambitious and results-driven Marine Sales Director to lead and expand our marine sales business across New Zealand. This role will be key in driving sales growth through various B2B channels, including distributors, OEMs, and the Aftermarket (AM) sales network.
About the RoleThis position involves spearheading efforts to grow Dometic's brand presence in New Zealand, focusing on our Outdoor family of marine products, while supporting and expanding existing distribution relationships and dealer networks.
As the Marine Sales Director, you will develop and execute sales strategies, build a high-performance sales team, and ensure that your efforts align with global sales targets and business goals.
Your role will also involve regular travel within New Zealand and occasional international travel to attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
Key Responsibilities- Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with key customers, distributors, and dealers, ensuring satisfaction and identifying growth opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales across all marine product categories, leveraging the full potential of our product portfolio and market reach.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adjust sales strategies and capitalize on new opportunities.
- Build and lead a high-performing sales team in line with business growth goals. Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to ensure that the team is aligned with Dometic's sales objectives.
- Accurately forecast sales performance by product group and customer, ensuring that expectations are met or exceeded. Regularly report on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activity.
- Work closely with Product Managers to ensure the effective execution of training plans for internal teams and customers, ensuring strong product knowledge across the dealer network.
We are looking for a candidate with proven success in B2B sales management, preferably within the marine, outdoor, or related industries. Experience working with distributors and dealers is highly advantageous.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of the marine industry, particularly in the outdoor product sector, and a passion for new technologies and innovative products.
Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to build, manage, and motivate a sales team to meet ambitious sales targets.
A track record of developing successful sales strategies, identifying market opportunities, and delivering strong results.
Proficiency in CRM software, sales forecasting, and reporting tools.
Frequent travel within New Zealand and occasional international travel may be required.
