About the Central Library
The central library is a vibrant hub of activity, serving as a focal point for our community's literacy, knowledge, and information needs.
The Role
In this busy and dynamic role, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day leadership for library assistants and shelvers in the central library, ensuring high-quality customer service to all library users.
You will oversee the efficient running of frontline library services through staffing management and rostering, as well as manage the fiction library collection.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a New Zealand-recognised library qualification or similar experience, along with a good understanding of how public libraries operate.
You must be able to lead staff to provide exemplary customer service, have experience working with people as a leader and influencer, and a genuine interest in fiction books.
A flexible approach, commitment to customer experience, excellent communication skills, and strong organisational abilities are essential. Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for making things tick are also required.
