This is important to Anthony Harper as having a range of perspectives enables them to make better decisions, give better advice and be a workplace of choice that recognises the unique potential of all.About the role:Due to a recent retirement, there has an opportunity to reassess the organisation's future needs and refine the role's scope, with a strong emphasis on AML.This is a pivotal position and as the AML Compliance Officer, you own the firm's AML programme and lead the second line of defence by ensuring appropriate compliance assurance, coaching and advising the AML operations team, working closely with senior leadership, partners, and engaging directly with key regulatory bodies.
You will be supported by the AML Escalation Committee and be seen as the AML/CFT All Star.In addition, you will support the CEO in achieving wider compliance obligations with your expertise being instrumental in maintaining robust processes, staying ahead of regulatory changes, and fostering a strong compliance culture across the firm.This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced AML compliance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys problem-solving, understands complex business structures and is adept at balancing regulatory requirements with commercial realities.If you're a pragmatic thinker who values collaboration and is eager to take a leading role in implementing new AML/CFT regulations, we'd love to hear from you.About you:The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AML compliance, assurance, and regulatory frameworks, with the ability to take a risk-based approach to compliance.
This experience would ideally include conveyancing, trust/tax arrangements, and business structures.A self-starter, and someone who thrives in high-pressure environments, you will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues at all levels.
Your experience in developing, implementing, and reviewing policies and procedures will be essential in maintaining a robust compliance framework.You may currently be working in a consulting or professional services environment and are now looking to make a deeper, more lasting impact within an organisation by leading its regulatory stewardship.You will also ideally have:Experience and sound knowledge of assurance, AML compliance and regulatory frameworks.Broad knowledge of a range of legislative obligations, including FATCA, the Privacy Act, and the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act.Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.Excellent organisational skills and an ability to relate well with authors, clients and colleagues at all levels.Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.Please note all applications will be acknowledged electronically.
