Finding the best people to fit into our vibrant and supportive culture is critical to us.The roleBased at our Head office in Auckland and Reporting to the General Manager this is a critical position within our organisation to ensure technical and commercial compliance within our Service Division.Manage a team of technical specialists and oversee the delivery of complex, bespoke solutionsLead sales, quality, training, service, and profit objectives are metContinue to develop and lead the Services Team into the recognized leader in our industryIn conjunction with the General Manager, Financial Controller and National Sales Manager develop and execute the Services Team annual business plans to achieve/exceed sales, profit, and organizational goalsProvide technical expertise and commercial guidance to customers on the implementation and ongoing support of Cookes' services offeringsContribute to the development of new advanced services and solutions to meet evolving customer needsEnsure all technical work is completed to the highest standards and in compliance with industry regulationsManage project budgets, timelines, and performance metricsIdentify, develop, and successfully implement new testing and rigging services to support profitable growth, including drafting of supporting business casesEnsure compliance with appropriate standards, and keep up to date with changesWhat we are looking forExtensive experience (8+ years) relevant industry experience and demonstrated management in a similar sized businessStrong commercial acumen and the ability to translate technical requirements into business solutionsExcellent project management and stakeholder management skillsExpert knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standardsExceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to lead, mentor and develop a high-performing teamRelevant Industry qualifications, knowledge and experience including:Relevant LEEA Qualifications or equivalentGeneral and advanced lifting and height safety equipment inspection, testing and certificationWire rope rigging, handling / installation, maintenance, inspection, and discard criteriaFamiliarity or demonstrated ability to become competent and apply relevant New Zealand Regulations, including:Rigging ACOP for Load-LiftingLEENZ Code of Practice for the Safe Use of Lifting EquipmentACOP for CranesBest Practice Guidelines for Working at Height in NZAS/NZS 1891 Height Safety parts 2-4Health and Safety at Work Act 2015You will ideally have relevant industry experience in rigging, wire rope, lifting equipment and height safety products and application within the key markets the business services, which include Fishing, Construction, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Industrial, Oil & Gas, Forestry, Marine, Transport, Aviation and Defence.What we offerAt Cookes', we are committed to providing our employees with a supportive and rewarding work environment.
