Join the team at Red Stag in Rotorua, operating New Zealand's largest producing modern Sawmill.
We are looking for someone to join our Sawmill Night Shift Team.
Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 5.30pm – 4.10am (temporarily from present to 1 May 2025, hours of work will be 5:30pm to 4.40am, Monday to Thursday), with occasional overtime usually on a Friday, as required.
Red Stag Timber operates a modern state-of-the-art Sawmill in Rotorua to support the New Zealand building industry.
The latest automated sawmilling machinery and technology provide an exciting and challenging career in the timber industry.
Further Sawmill expansion projects have been completed to increase capacity to 650,000m per annum sawn.
This has created additional roles to operate the new Timber Trim line, Bin Sorter, and Package Stacker.
With our state-of-the-art USNR machinery, the dual quad large band saw line is cutting up to 15 logs per minute, averaging over 8,000 logs per day.
A high-speed curve saw breaks the timber down.
Further downstream, the timber is automatically trimmed and sorted at 140 pieces per minute; finally, an auto-stacker packs timber in excess of 700 packets a day.
Red Stag Timber will provide: Competitive rates of pay, along with a premium overtime rate paid at T1.5;Weekly Nightshift allowance of $180/week worked;An extra week of paid Shift Leave, in addition to 4 weeks annual leave;A strong safety & wellbeing culture exists, including an annual Wellness Benefit of up to $350 after 12 months;Onsite training and learning opportunities to achieve a NZQA recognised qualification.Ideal applicants will have the following attributes: Be reliable, hardworking, and a physically fit team player;Take pride in producing a quality product, along with dedication to health and safety.You must be a NZ Resident living in New Zealand to apply for these roles.
A pre-employment drug test and medical assessment is required. To assess apprenticeship (if applicable) entry criteria, a mechanical aptitude & numerical test may be required.
