This position is part of a team of three responsible for booking patient and staff travel along with booking accommodation and conferences.
This is an integral role within the organisation providing a service to the entire Nelson Marlborough district.Our preferred applicants will be required to undertake a computer skills assessment.Working hours are between Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.About the Team/Service/LocationOur Clinical Support Services play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities.
By providing essential administrative and secretarial assistance, we enable clinical teams to focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
From coordinating schedules to managing documentation, we are the backbone of the hospital's daily operations.
We provide a great place to work with professional development and career growth opportunities, job security, and workplace wellness programmes.About you:As a Staff and Patient Travel Coordinator, your duties will include:Coordinating staff travel arrangements, including transportation, accommodation, and itineraries.Organising accommodation and travel for patients when required.Planning and booking conferences and professional development events for staff.Skills and experienceProven experience in administrative or secretarial roles, preferably in a healthcare setting.Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask in a busy environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with healthcare management systems.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.A high level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.A typing speed of 50 words per minute or more is essential.Knowledge of medical terminology is an advantage but not essential.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth NZ is 'the weaving of wellnesses'.
