The increased funding is intended to help those who want to returnto midwifery, without the financial burden that can come with a Return toPractice programme.There is recognition for the critical role midwives have in caringfor the health needs of our whanau and communities.This funding is one steptowards growing and strengthening the midwifery workforce. Health New Zealand is especially keen to see rural, Maori andPacific midwives return to the workforce, as these are areas of particular need.About the Fund There are two parts to the fund : Return to Practice (RTP) and Return toNew Zealand Practice. The level offunding and recertification requirements will vary depending on the length oftime away from practice.Please refer to the Midwifery - Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora website for full details.
