This is an opportunity to join our team in the Cardiac Physiology Lab, 4th Floor of Dunedin Hospital and train on the job to become a Cardiac Physiology Technician.
This important mahi involves taking ECGs, fitting cardiac monitors, treadmill testing, and assisting with other mahi as required. Our technicians work collaboratively with the other clinical team members including the Cardiac Physiologists, Nurses, and cardiologists within the department to ensure whanau experience efficient and effective care.
The hours of work for this position are Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm with a study component attached. You will be supported to complete the Certificate in Physiological Measurement (CPM), a one-year course which entails an academic component as well as both practical work and case studies. Health NZ will cover the cost of the course; to gain this qualification, a trainee must complete the course and have one year of full-time employment.
This is a fixed-term position for 18 months with the opportunity to become permanent pending successful completion of the Certificate in Physiological Measurement (CPM) program.
Ideally, you will be a customer-focused person, with some relevant previous study already completed. Experience in the health system is desirable but not essential.
