• Wellington basedMo te tima / About the TeamThe Maori, Communities and Partnerships (MCP) Group is responsible for building capability across the organisation to support the aspirations of Maori, connecting and collaborating to build effective partnerships and community approaches that achieve better outcomes for those who most need our support.The Service and Contracts Management (SCM) team within MCP is responsible for managing a range of contracts with service providers and partners and supporting our industry partnerships with employers.
The group also supports the regional contracting teams who work directly with providers throughout New Zealand.
The reporting team sits within SCM and responds to requests from within MCP and wider MSD business groups.Mo te tunga / About the roleThe Senior Reporting Analyst is entrusted with the crucial role of working alongside various stakeholders to consolidate outcome reports and related data.
This role is geared towards providing in-depth, accurate analysis and guidance that underpins informed decision-making and risk assessment in service procurement for MSD.Key to the role is the formation and nurturing of robust networks and professional relationships with colleagues throughout MSD.
This interaction serves to heighten awareness of data requirements and to assure accurate reporting.The role holder produces reports, maintains dashboards and other data used to inform the sector and Ministers, other government agencies, the public, wider MSD and MCP, specifically to assess the success of the provider programmes of work.Mou – Nga Pukenga me nga Wheako / Skills and experienceDemonstrated proficiency in developing high-quality reports coupled with an aptitude for problem-solving.A high level of competency in using Excel, specifically in providing data that suits and meets the need of intended audiences.Proven technical skills that demonstrate efficiency and accuracy in responding to requests for data within required timeframes.Familiarity with public sector reporting processes and the systems required to fulfil these requirements.Proven capability for critical thinking, particularly in analysing requirements and developing solutions for reporting issues.Exceptional interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships, with a proven ability to engage effectively at all levels.The ability to multitask, prioritise effectively, and escalate issues when appropriate.An ability to understand and use Structured Query Language (SQL) and SAS Enterprise Guide, Oracle OBTI and BIP or similar BI tools would be an advantage.Reporting experience in the social services or government sector would be an advantage.An innovative, resourceful mindset.Must have an eye for detail and experience in peer reviewing the work of others would be advantageous.Candidates who see themselves thriving in a data-driven, collaborative environment and enjoy problem solving by delving into the detail are strongly encouraged to apply.
