Ahi provides a sense of belonging to all those who walk through its doors and provides an environment to thrive in.Job Description:Take food and beverage orders, serve orders, answer questions and attend to customer requestsMaintain an up-to-date working knowledge of all menu items and daily specialsUse sales techniques to up-sell or add-on sell on menu itemsMaintain a high standard of table service, using established food handling and serving techniquesEnsure that customers receive efficient and courteous service at all timesHave a good knowledge of local and international food and beverageCarry out any requests by the Restaurant Manager / SupervisorWork with bartenders to fill beverage ordersWork with kitchen staff to process and expedite food ordersEnsure the restaurant is kept clean and tidyMaintain and keep clean restaurant equipment, tables, crockery, cutlery and utensilsEnsure all food, beverage and non-consumables are accounted for and charged forFollow establishment policies – particularly in regard to wastage, breakage and personal groomingEnsure that all property is handled with due careBe fully conversant with establishment standards, operations and services and carry out duties to these standardsDeal with customer complaints, queries with authority, or refer to supervisorAttend to all customer queries and requests courteously and efficiently and to establishment standardsFollow set policies to maintain standards for health & safety at work in all restaurant service areasInform the designated management if any hazards are identified that may affect work conditionsMaintain good working relationships with fellow staff and managerMaintain positive relationship between kitchen and front of house staffIdeal Candidate:Motivated with a positive attitudeAdaptable, and able to work in a high pressure environmentWorking with a team of hospitality professionals who are passionate about what they doWilling to learn and grow with the teamMinimum of one year work experiencePreferably a strong knowledge of New Zealand suppliersMinimum of 30 hours per week.
