We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
We have a full-time, permanent opportunity available to join the Te Manawa Taki Regional team as a Senior Compliance Officer.
This role is critical in both delivering compliance activities and providing leadership and mentoring for other compliance kaimahi and technical expertise in relation to the delivery of NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) with compliance activities related to Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990 and the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
Working with various key stakeholders, you will monitor targeted, and evidence-based regional compliance activity.
You will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining nationally consistent and effective systems/processes for regional delivery and reporting of compliance activity including development of national standards of practice.

You are someone with strong problem-solving and analytical skills combined with an ability to quickly assimilate new information.
Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experience Relevant experience in a regulator/compliance sector, specific to the job and work demands.
Subject matter expertise in regulatory approaches and/or Smokefree and Regulated Products and Sale and Supply of Alcohol legislation.
A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification.
Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
Experience in an advisory role, applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice.
