Exempt from Clean Slate and all conviction history is released.The ability to pass a drug test.Be medically fit for employment and complete a Medical Assessment and Physical Readiness Assessment.Our prisons operate 24/7 - applicants must be able to work shifts on a rotating roster.In line with our Strategy Hokai Rangi, we are prioritising applications from people who have experience in a Kaupapa Maori or Pasifika environment and/or a willingness to learn.

Our standards are high, so should you apply to join us, you will undergo a comprehensive selection process that will assess you against our core requirements.We offer fully paid training, starting with a one-week induction at Manawatu Prison, followed by 5 weeks of training at our National Training Centre in Trentham, Wellington, and then 5 weeks back at Manawatu Prison before graduating.
Your learning journey will continue with professional practice and development support, along with a clear pathway to career progression.In return, you'll get opportunities for professional development, promotion, and the ability to gain a recognised qualification in Offender Management.This role is based at Whanganui Prison.Starting salary of $67,519.
