As a part of the Platform Delivery team, our focus is to drive efficiency improvements across operation maintenance and strategic delivery for all Platforms. Your role will be to collaborate with and support stakeholders in ensuring availability of various applications. You'll also be a key contributor to managing risk, initiative, and operational performance to ensure effective sequencing, scheduling, and planning of platform activities.This is an exciting permanent opportunity in that your recommendations will drive challenging discussions that will inform business decisions and influence business results. The successful candidate will need to be based in New Zealand, Christchurch preferred. We have flexible working options available and welcome applicants who are ready to step up and make their mark in this role.ABOUT YOUWe are looking to use the fantastic internal talent we have here at IAG. We're after the following skill set so you can succeed in this role:Knowledge of delivery, implementation, and operation of service desk/ticketing services.This role will entail some afterhours work as the team supports apps 24/7.Ability to build and maintain good working relationships.Strong communication and presentation skills.Confidence in liaising with all levels of customers and management.Excellent judgement and decision-making capabilities.Ability to identify and solve problems through analysis and planning.Proactive and self-starter.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and skills.Required:2+ years experience in a DevOps/Development environment.Experience in incident, problem, and change management processes.Experience working with issue & problem tracking systems such as Jira and ServiceNow.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with the ability to identify root cause and implement resolutions.Experience in Java - developing, testing/troubleshooting.Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.Experience with one of the major cloud providers, ideally AWS.Advantageous:Knowledge of the insurance business and its systems.Bachelor's degree/diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).ABOUT USIAG is not only the largest general insurance group in Aotearoa|New Zealand and Australia, underwriting over $AUD13 billion of premium per annum, but we're also a tech and research facility, a hub for climate change experts, and a centre of resilience design.
