Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About The RoleThis position carries a varied workload, working to strict deadlines and fundamental to this position is your ability to uphold confidential patient information.As the Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support for clinicians, as well as the management of patient activity. You will also ensure that the patient journey through the service is as stress-free as possible, and is efficient in time and resource for the department.Other day-to-day tasks include but are not limited to:Setting up and maintaining effective electronic and paper filing systems and proceduresOrganising patient pathways from actioning triaged referralsBooking clinics and surgeries along with any further follow-up requiredSecretarial work for medical staffMedical transcription workGeneral administration such as running reports, meetings, sorting correspondence, liaising with external parties such as patients, GP's, private practices and other providersAbout the Team/Service/LocationTe Whatu Ora - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities.
