Senior Test Automation Engineer- Specialist Lead
2 weeks ago
We are looking for a highly skilled technical test lead to identify and apply modern best-practices in automated testing processes and procedures to ensure optimal product quality. As a technical test lead, you are validating product functionality as it's being built, and embedding quality into the software development cycle. As such, you will be required to assess the functionality, accuracy, and feasibility of software to detect flaws in the system early.
To be successful in this role, you should have the expertise of a hybrid-developer, a passion for detecting and solving problems, an acute attention to detail, and the ability to see the overall big picture of the value test automation brings to a disciplined development team.
The ideal candidate will have:
6+ years of working in Lead (or Automation Architect) capacity, including proven experience in designing and implementing Automation Testing frameworks and methodology.
8+ years of automated testing development for Web, API, Mobile, or Data in any common language/framework (Playwright, WebdriverIO, Cypress, Robot Framework, Appium, Serenity, Espresso, Mocha/Chai, etc.) – yes, we know some of these haven't been around for that long.
Strong programming skills in at least one of the following languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, Python.
Expertise in assessing the current state of testing at the framework level and identifying gaps to achieve a mature target state.
Experience working with cloud-based testing platforms such as Browserstack or Sauce Labs.
Fundamental DevOps skills.
Experience in AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
Equal level of comfort on the tools as you are leading a team of test automation engineers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering efficient and scalable test automation solutions.
Embrace and collaborate across different specialisations and other team members, leveraging diverse skill sets to foster a culture of continuous learning and upskilling within the team.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey test concepts to business stakeholders with varying levels of technical ability.
On a day-to-day basis in this role, you will:
Identify and mitigate product/system risks and issues by developing and executing automated checks with an appropriate level of coverage to ensure the delivery of a high-quality system and user experience.
Ensure that design for automated checks includes modularisation for code reusability, parameterisation for data-driven capability, and balance between clarity and efficiency.
Provide consultation, share expert opinions, and offer guidance on automation framework architecture.
Mentor the team by sharing your experience and contributing to QE accelerators and tools.
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience with setting up and orchestrating CI/CD pipelines and TestOps code deployment practices.
Experience working with proprietary vendor tools (UFT, LeanFT, Tosca, UiPath, TestComplete, Ranorex, LambdaTest, etc.).
Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle E-Business, Oracle Fusion, SAP, Dynamics 365, ServiceNow, SalesForce, etc.).
Exposure to Performance Testing and ability to readily create scalable Service Virtualisation/stubs to support load testing.
Big Data (Data Lake, Data Warehouse) testing experience.
Exposure to Cloud migration testing.
Familiarity with automated load and performance testing using any of the following: JMeter, K6, Gatling, Neo Load.
Experience in setting up Grafana dashboards or Dashboards using Google Data Studio, Google Big Query for test automation execution.
Work experience in writing database queries for SQL/NoSQL.
