About the roleThis is an exciting opportunity to create new and delicious products for Tegel, our customers, and our consumers. Right now, we have a vacancy for a Senior Product Development Technologist to join our R&D team. This role is based in Christchurch.In this role, you will be focused on managing assigned product, packaging and process innovation, renovation and value improvement projects as prioritized by the business to meet the growth & value drivers in Tegel's Company Strategy.We are fast paced so you will need to bring your strong communication skills and drive to manage projects and meet deadlines under pressure. This is an exciting and varied role where your flexibility and ability to deal with challenging situations will be key to your success. You will be required to travel to our Auckland sites.Join a friendly team that leads innovative solutions to get everyone cluckingWhat does the role involve?Execution of product development briefs. Ensuring that solutions are in line with the project objectives, customer expectations, operational constraints, nutritional requirements, and commercial needs.Inspiring and supporting Sales & Marketing with market research, knowledge of food trends, innovations, and new technologies.Provide comprehensive briefs to ingredient suppliers in line with Tegel and customer requirements.Help identify areas of improvement on product and production processes, actively engaging with other departments to implement improvements and bring solutions to life.What will you bring?Tertiary Degree in Food Technology or Food Science or equivalent.Minimum of 4 years' experience in the food industry.Sound understanding and experience in the product development process, from concept through to commercialization.Understanding of the FSANZ Food Standards Code.Ability to build relationships and influence without authority.Drive for results.What do we offer?Competitive remuneration.Health Insurance.Life Insurance.Kiwisaver contribution up to 4%.
