Due to ongoing demand, we are seeking an experienced Faultsman to join our growing team.
About the Role As a Faultman, you will play a key role in the operation, restoration, and maintenance of 400V, 11kV, 33kV, and 50kV overhead lines, underground cables, and associated network equipment.
You will work within a skilled team to respond to faults, conduct repairs, and support critical maintenance activities to ensure reliable power distribution to our customers.
Key Responsibilities: Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty electrical distribution componentsPerform emergency response and reactive maintenance on the networkConduct switching operations as per control room instructionsTest lines, circuits, and underground cablesClimb and work on electricity network structures safelyJoint overhead conductors and replace service pillarsEnsure accurate job completion records, including photos and asset detailsFollow strict Health & Safety protocols in all work activitiesSkills & Qualifications To be successful in this role, you must have:
New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply (Line Mechanic Distribution) – Level 4 (or overseas equivalent)EWRB NZ Electrical Practicing Licence or willing to obtain once in countryMinimum 5 years' experience in electricity distributionKnowledge of distribution systems and procedures up to 33kVValid NZ Class 1 driver's license (Heavy Traffic preferred) (or equivalent international licence that can be converted)Desirable but not essential:
